What is the brow lamination process like?

Brow lamination is basically a perm for your brows that helps brow hair stay lifted upward for about 6-8 weeks. The process starts off by applying a lift lotion onto the brows, which allow the hair to be moved into a new shape. Next, our beauticians brush the brow hairs up into place, which creates the illusion of voluminous, fuller and feathery eyebrows. Finally, a setting lotion is painted to the brows to replenish their moisture after the chemical treatment process.

From there, the brows may be waxed, or tinted, to achieve perfectly shaped and sculpted eyebrows.

What formula do we use?

At The Nail Bar, we specifically use Elleebana’s formula, the Elleeplex Profusion Brow Lamination for our clients. This formula is highly effective, which strengthens brow hair with confidence, even for clients that have unruly for downward growing eyebrow hair. In addition, this product is vegan friendly, and super gentle on the skin, which minimises the chance of over processing and keep the eyebrows perfectly healthy.

Laminated brows with Elleplex Profusion lasts our clients up to 6 to 8 weeks before the next appointment.

Now onto aftercare, what is required?

To ensure that your laminated brows stay as perfect as when you left our salon, it’s super important that you follow these instructions. Within the first 48 hours, to prevent disrupting the lamination, you should:

  • Avoid make-up removers as they may disrupt the lamination or strip the tint
  • Avoid sleeping on your face or on your side
  • Avoid wearing an eye mask to sleep
  • Avoid wetting the brow hairs
  • Avoid exfoliation of the skin around the brow area
  • Avoid using Retinols, Vitamin A, AHA, BHA, steroid creams or skin thinning treatments

After the first 48 hours, it’s crucial for you to avoid touching your brow hairs as much as possible to maintain the perfect look. Also, it’s essential that you avoid steam from showers, saunas, dishwashers or ovens wherever possible. However, if your brows get wet, it’s recommended for you to gently brush them back into place.
